Gensco currently has an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Commercial Estimator to be based out of Tacoma, WA.
Responsibilities include evaluating estimating tools to determine the best ones for the company, working with numbers accurately to review budgets, materials, and time schedules, and working with construction documents to make bids and execute take-offs.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- 4 Year College degree required, can substitute one year of experience for one year of college.
- Strong proficiency in estimating
- Ability to utilize automated estimating techniques.
- Understands and can execute take-offs of construction documents, and input take-offs into computer spreadsheet.
- Understands and knows how to obtain pricing for materials
- Ability to make an estimate even when predetermined standard(s) are not available.
- Ability to review contracts and negotiate a successful outcome for the company.
- Ability to respond promptly to customer needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service and maintain confidentiality.
- Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, and use time efficiently.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Exhibits a sense of urgency for deadlines.

Gensco, Inc. is currently looking for a Director of Information Technology. This position will be an integral part of the management team and will report directly to the CFO.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Desired Skills
- Four-year degree in computer studies or equivalent work experience
- Five-plus years of related work experience, preferably in a small to medium sized organization
- Ability to be both tactical and strategic – will need to be very hands-on and get involved in the details, as well as look at the big picture
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations utilizing radio frequency (RF) scanners, portable printers, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) protocols and standards
- Prior experience with ERP/business system implementations
- Prior experience with web-based applications and website development designed to improve customer experience using e-commerce
- Broad knowledge of data and communication equipment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with specialized teams to help define, facilitate and challenge appropriate work scope
- Experience in developing business processes to match system capabilities
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
- Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency

Summary Job Description:
- Manages Gensco’s computer operations and systems enhancement efforts.
- Maintains efficient and accurate computer operations.
- Establishes and manages formal project prioritization and tracking process to ensure company-wide programming efforts are well-defined and coordinated across departments.
- Researches and provides recommendations for computer hardware and software enhancements appropriate for Gensco.
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises Computer Department Team Members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Computer Operations
- Establishes appropriate procedures and internal controls for computer operations/systems and monitors results to provide excellent service to computer users.
- Manages the computer department’s User support activities and monitors daily balancing of computer-processed data.
- Seeks ways for Gensco to expand the use of computer technology and solicits suggestions from both internal and external sources.
- Analyzes and recommends appropriate additions or modifications to Gensco’s computer hardware, software and data communication systems.
- Manages the computer software definition, programming, testing and implementation efforts.
- Manages the computer hardware maintenance, upgrades, installation and testing efforts.
- Manages Gensco’s Internet and Intranet website development and operation efforts.
- Serves as Gensco’s internal resource on computer-related issues and questions.
- Conducts or supervises appropriate computer user training and responds to questions.
- Supervises the production and distribution of computer prepared output.
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises quality computer department Team Members.
- Pro-actively coaches computer department Team Members on developing and improving necessary job performance skills.
- Conducts appropriate job performance evaluations and compensation administration function for computer department Team Members.
Asset Management
- Ensures that Gensco’s security and safety practices prevent loss or damage to computer hardware and software.
- Ensures computer systems are appropriately backed up.
- Manages the company-wide purchasing and maintenance of computer hardware and software, data communication equipment and services and computer peripherals.
Compensation:
- This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime compensation.
- Total compensation will be commensurate with job performance.
- Eligible for Team Member benefits described in Team Member Handbook.
- Eligible to participate in annual bonus program.
